Class A violation
HPD's non-hazardous violation class: minor physical conditions and paperwork failures, with 90 days to correct.
Class A is the lowest of HPD's three classes. Typical Class A conditions are administrative or minor: a required sign not posted, a small surface defect, a report not filed. The owner gets 90 days to correct and certify.
One Class A violation says little. A pile of them says the owner does not do paperwork, and several of the paperwork rules exist to protect tenants.
